Neutral nail polish does not have to mean one universal beige. Undertone, opacity, sheen, and the contrast you prefer all affect how a color looks on the hands or feet.
Decide how noticeable you want the color to be
A sheer neutral allows more of the natural nail to show. An opaque neutral creates more even coverage. Soft pink, beige, taupe, and muted rose can all read as neutral while producing different levels of contrast.
If you want a very understated result, say so directly. If you prefer a polished but visible color, describe the depth and warmth you like.
Use references carefully
A photo can communicate direction, but lighting and screens change color. Describe what you like about the example, such as warm, cool, sheer, creamy, glossy, or low contrast.
Availability of an exact shade should be confirmed before the visit. Be prepared to choose a close alternative if a specific color is not available.
Pair color with the appointment type
Mention whether the polish is for hands, feet, or both, and whether you also want a manicure, pedicure, hand massage, or foot massage.
